To ensure that the riches of nature are passed on to future generations, all Takata Group companies are involved in ISO14001 Environment Management programs; most have already achieved ISO14001 certification. Our quality concept demands that we pay careful attention to every detail of environmental impact when developing new products; examples include a proprietary environment-friendly “non-azide” airbag propellant and non-polluting plastic airbag coating, both designed to bring automobiles into closer harmony with nature. We do whatever we can to avoid wasting natural resources. Setting the goal of zero harmful emissions, we have environmental management committees at all of our plants and set stringent monthly targets for energy saving, trash reduction and paper consumption. A system has been established to ensure that every section in every division is involved, and that the status of target attainment is visible to every employee at any time.
