Takata began to expand outside Japan in the 1980s. At present, Takata has more than 50 companies, including R&D, production, and sales centers in 20 countries such as Japan, China, United States, Mexico, Germany, Brazil and Africa to name a few. For management purposes, these locations are grouped into three regions: Asia, the Americas, and Europe.
By grouping these business locations into three regions, Takata is better able to understand the needs of customers in specific regions and respond to their requirements in a timely manner. For developing technology, Takata has established three R&D centers located in Japan, the United States, and Germany. Takata shares its high-level technology and other accumulated information throughout its global operations. With its technological capabilities as a base, Takata continuously develops products to meet the needs and requirements of various countries.
